Blotter 04/01/2024-04/07/2024

On 04/01/2024 at 6:37 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 34-year-old male, Paul Escobar of West New York, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. Escobar was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.

On 04/02/2024 at 10:20 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 58-year-old male, Dhanraj Dass of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00 with a 10% option. Dass was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.

On 04/03/2024 at 4:23 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Kohls located at 3 Mill Creek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 51-year-old male, Jose Beato of Hawthorne, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Beato was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $7,500.00 with a 10 % option along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00.  The police also arrested a 40-year-old male, Danny Lopez of Weehawken, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and a 49-year-old female, Diana Rosa-Vicente of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $2,500.00 with a 10 % option.  Ms. Rosa-Vicente was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.  Both Mr. Lopez and Mr. Beato were issued their complaint warrants and were subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. 

On 04/03/2024 at 9:28 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Edison Police Department to take into custody a 36-year-old male, James Gibson of Brooklyn, NY for an unapprehended warrant issued by the Secaucus Police in relation to a Shoplifting and Burglary incident that occurred at Best Buy on 3 Mill Creek Drive on 03/07/2024. The warrant was issued for the charges of Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)] and Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)]. Gibson was also charged with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(2)] and Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)] for an incident that occurred on 08/27/2023 at Best Buy located at 3 Mill Creek Drive and was additionally charged with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)] and Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)] for an incident that occurred at Best Buy located at 3 Mill Creek Drive on 12/16/2023.  Mr. Gibson was issued all complaint warrants and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.       

On 04/01/2024 at 9:15 PM, in relation to an incident of Terroristic Threats that was reported to the police earlier on that same date, the police responded to Hamburg, NJ and arrested a 57-year-old male, Anthony Baccola of Hamburg, NJ for Terroristic Threats [2C:12-3B] and Witness Tampering [2C:12-3A]. Baccola was issued his complaint warrant pending a future court date.  

On 04/04/2024 at 1:55 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 29-year-old male, Melquan Brown of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ with no bail. Brown was issued 4 motor vehicle summonses and Officers from the Jersey City Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters and took custody of Mr. Brown for transport back to their authority.

On 04/04/2024 at 5:43 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 62-year-old male, Joachim Nworji of Union, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $600.00. Nworji was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently released from police custody.

On 04/05/2024 at 11:29 AM, in relation to a shoplifting that occurred at the Hudson Wine CO located at 865 Roosevelt Avenue on 10/25/2023, Secaucus Police arrested a 56-year-old female, Helene Conroy of Secaucus, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)]. Conroy was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 04/05/2024 at 12:06 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Hartz Mountain property located at Park Plaza Drive and Mill Creek Drive on a report of an individual on the property refusing to leave. During the investigation, the police arrested a 65-year-old male, Gregory Simpson of Garland, TX for Defiant Trespassing [2C:18-3B]. Simpson was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody. 

On 04/06/2024 at 6:53 PM, in relation to an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police regarding a criminal mischief incident that occurred to the property at 500 Plaza Drive where a sledgehammer was used to break one of the revolving glass doors at that location, the police arrested a 65-year-old male, Gregory Simpson of Garland, TX for Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)], Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4D] and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D]. Simpson was arrested while walking in the parking lot at 300 Park Plaza Drive. Mr. Simpson was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 04/07/2024 at 3:30 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Wayne Police Department to take into custody a 41-year-old male, Carlos Ayala of Union City, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ with no bail along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Weehawken, NJ with no bail. Ayala was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.
