An ever-present willingness to promote a trusting atmosphere between our police officers and individual citizens, community groups and business associations.  These alliances are created through better communication, interacting, listening and responding to our citizens.  We strive to build an environment built upon dignity and mutual respect for every individual in our community while remaining accessible to all whom choose to live, work or visit in the Town of Secaucus.  At all times we will provide a high level of service consistent with public expectations. We will develop an enhanced quality-of-life through community partnerships involving both the juveniles and adults of this municipality.   We choose to go the extra mile to provide special services with a personal touch.

Click It or Ticket

The Secaucus Police Department will participate in the national “Click It or Ticket” high-visibility enforcement campaign from May 18, 2026 through May 31, 2026.

“Click It or Ticket” is a nationwide campaign focused on the importance of seat belt use and the consequences of failing to buckle up. The campaign encourages drivers and passengers to always wear their seat belts while also raising awareness about increased police presence on our roadways during this enforcement period.

Traffic safety facts:

  • On average, every 54 minutes, a passenger vehicle occupant not wearing a seat belt dies in a traffic crash.
  • In 2024, 9,758 passenger vehicle occupants killed in traffic crashes were not wearing seat belts.
  • National daytime seat belt use by adult front-seat passengers in 2024 was 91.2%.
  • More unrestrained passenger vehicle occupants were killed at night (5,364) than during the day (4,319).
  • In 2024, 56% of passenger vehicle occupants killed at night (6:00 p.m. – 5:59 a.m.) were not wearing seat belts.
  • Among young adults ages 18 to 34 killed in passenger vehicle crashes in 2024, 59% were completely unrestrained.
  • Men are overrepresented in unrestrained fatalities, with 53% of men and 40% of women killed in crashes not wearing seat belts.

Seat belts save lives. Always wear your seat belt correctly:

  • Place the shoulder belt across the middle of your chest and away from your neck.
  • Place the lap belt across your hips, not your stomach.
  • Never place the shoulder belt behind your back or under your arm.

Buckle up every trip, every time.

The Secaucus Police Department and NHTSA urge all drivers to always buckle up.
