Dennis Miller was sworn in as Secaucus’s new police chief just one day shy of the 21st anniversary of his hiring. In those 21 years, he rose from the patrol division to captain and spent a decade on the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Municipal Task Force, investigating crimes across the county. Now, he’s drawing on the various leadership styles he encountered throughout his career to lead his department into its next era. Miller was sworn in as chief Tuesday when the department also swore in its first woman lieutenant, Kimberly Elphick.
