A Georgia man may be spending a lot more time in New Jersey than he anticipated.

Prosecutors will argue to detain Joseph White, of 28, of Loganville, a suburb of Atlanta, through his prosecution after he was arrested in Secaucus on gun charges, authorities said at White's first appearance in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City.

A detention hearing is scheduled for tomorrow before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale. 

White was charged with two counts each of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, as well as illegally transporting the guns from Georgia to New Jersey, the complaint says. A total of 29 states honor Georgia's carry-concealed-weapon law, but New Jersey is not one of them.
