When it comes to shoplifting, a trio must have thought that three sets of hands and eyes were better than one. But employees at a Secaucus department store proved them wrong.

Michelle Avila-Diaz, 26, of North Bergen, Silvana Arcos, 53, of Guttenberg, a Guttenberg 17-year-old girl were arrested on Feb. 15 after they shoplifted jewelry worth $568 from Kohl's, Secaucus police Capt. Dennis Miller said.

Arcos and Avila-Diaz were charged shoplifting, conspiracy to commit shoplifting, possession of burglary tools and the use of a juvenile to commit a crime, Miller said, noting that the teen was charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting.
