A 43-year-old Elizabeth man has been charged with entering a woman's home in Secaucus and choking her until she passed out.

Jose F. Reta, of Dayton Street, was arrested Wednesday following what was described as a domestic dispute. He was charged with burglary, making terroristic threats, aggravated assault, stalking, theft and weapons offense related to a knife, a criminal complaint states.

Reta allegedly entered the woman's apartment without permission, and put his hands around her throat, saying "I am going to kill you." When she collapsed, he pushed her over a couch, the complaint alleges.
