The Walmart on Paterson Plank Road was evacuated for more than 90 minutes Sunday afternoon after a bomb threat was called into the superstore, police said.

At about 12:45 p.m., a Walmart employee reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to have planted a bomb inside the store, Secaucus Police Capt. Dennis Miller said.

The store's management had already begun evacuating the building before police arrived. The Hudson and Bergen county sheriff's departments brought K9 units into the store and deemed the threat unfounded, Miller said.

Shoppers were allowed back in the store just before 2:30 p.m.
