A New York man trying to cash a fraudulent check from a Union County church was arrested after a teller at a Secaucus bank saw through his impious scam, police said.

Ronald Weston, 64, entered the TD Bank on Paterson Plank Road Saturday afternoon and presented a check for $850 from Plainfield Christian Church made out to another person, Secaucus Capt. Dennis Miller said.
