When police take a bite out of crime, sometimes the crime bites back.

A Bronx woman bit a Secaucus police officer’s hand last week when she was apprehended outside the Park Plaza Drive Walmart after stealing $850 worth of merchandise from the store, Secaucus police Capt. Dennis Miller said.

Shamina Burton, 26, was one of three Bronx women charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery on Oct. 8. She was additionally charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction, and drug offenses related to marijuana, police said.
