A wild scene played out in the Meadowlands Saturday night when a man stole a cab, crashed the vehicle on train tracks, and was later found walking up the Turnpike in efforts to flee police, authorities said. 

Milton Lanza, of the Bronx, is facing charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief, trespassing and resisting arrest. 

At about 7:30 p.m., a cab driver said Lanza approached his car on Meadowlands Parkway asking for money. The driver thought Lanza was attempting to rob him, so he got out of his car, Secaucus Police Capt. Dennis Miller said.
