On August 23rd at 6:50am during a Motor Vehicle Stop (Tinted Windows), a 26yo male, Wilkinson Mejia of Union City was arrested for possessing a quantity of marijuana and hashish oil. He was charged with two counts of Possession of CDS [2C:35-10A(4)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Mr. Mejia also had a $140.00 warrant from Union City. Mr. Mejia posted bail, was issued 3 MV summonses (Tinted Windows, Driving While Suspended, and Operation of MV while in Possession of CDS) then released with his summonses.

On August 23rd at 10:00 am during a Motor Vehicle Stop (Tinted Windows) a 29yo male, Derrick Clinton of Jersey City was arrested for 2 outstanding warrants in the amount of $200.00 from Jersey City. The passenger, 24yo female, Shornea Smith-Alston of Jersey City was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $500.00 from Jersey City. Both parties posted bail and were released.

On August 24th at 12:45 am, Passaic County Sheriff’s Office relinquished custody of a 34yo female, Christina May of Jersey City for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $1500.00 from Secaucus. Ms. May was transported to Hudson County Jail.

On August 24th at 8:35 am during a Motor Vehicle stop (Improper Display), a 30yo female, Desiree Carmichael of Jersey City was arrested for 2 outstanding warrants in the amount of $200.00 from Jersey City. Ms. Carmichael posted bail, was issued 3 MV summonses (Improper Display, Driving While License Suspended, Failure to Possess an Insurance Card) then released.

On August 25th at 4:10 pm during an investigation of a stolen truck in the vicinity of County Avenue, a 38yo male, Roberto Carreno of Belleville was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $300.00 from Secaucus. Mr. Carreno posted bail and was released.

On August 26, 2017 at approximately 11:14 pm, Ernest Cuevas, 56 of Richmond, NY was stopped for his vehicle not being registered. He was also found to have 2 outstanding warrants from Ridgefield Park totalling $1500.00 and subsequently arrested. He was issued summonses for Fictitious Plates, Driving without a License, Driving while Suspended and having an Open Container.

On 8-27-17 at 0701 hours, a 25 year old male, Jose D. Narvaez of Helmetta, NJ was arrested for DWI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Accident. An officer on patrol observed a vehicle on Rt. 3 West Service Road facing the wrong way on the highway. Upon further investigation, it was found that while the vehicle was travelling Westbound on the Main Body of Rt. 3, the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove over two curbed medians and ended up facing northbound on the Rt. 3 West Service Road. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. After failing several dexterity tests, the driver was placed under arrest for DWI. He was issued his summonses and released to a responsible adult.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
