Police Blotter 10/01/18 – 10/07/18

On 10/02/2018 at 5:00 PM, while on patrol in the area of 1 Meadowlands Parkway the Secaucus Police arrested a 37 year old female, Jennifer Esser of Glen Cove, NY for an outstanding warrant out of Ridgefield Park, NJ in the amount of $500.00.  Ms. Esser posted bail and was released from custody. 

 

On 10/03/2018 at 9:36 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, the Secaucus Police arrested a 43 year old male, Larry Fernandez of Newark, NJ for 1 warrant out of Kearny, NJ in the amount of $2500.00 and 1 warrant from North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $120.00.  Mr. Fernandez posted bail for both warrants and was released from custody. 

 

On 10/04/2018 at 1:34 AM, the North Bergen Police Department transported a 36 year old male, Randy Suarez of West New York, NJ for an outstanding warrant out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $400.00.  Mr. Suarez also had 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union City, NJ in the amount of $250.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Guttenberg, NJ in the amount of $250.00.  Mr. Suarez posted bail and was released from custody. 

 

On 10/04/2018 at 4:46 PM, Wood Ridge Police Department transported a 45 year old male, Felix Aviles of Bayonne, NJ for 2 outstanding warrants out of Secaucus, NJ for a total amount of $2,000.00.  Mr. Aviles posted bail and was released from custody.

 

On 10/04/2018 at 9:22 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Port Authority Police Department to take custody of a 26 year old male, Vincent Thomas of Lumberton, NJ for 2 outstanding warrants out of Secaucus, NJ for a total amount of $2500.00.  During the transport to the Hudson County Jail, Mr. Thomas caused damage to the rear of the police vehicle and was further charged with Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)].  Mr. Thomas was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

 

On 10/05/2018 at 1:45 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Atlantic County Jail to take custody of a 37 year old female, Sheila Justiniano of Las Vegas, NV for an outstanding warrant out of Secaucus, NJ with a bail amount of $2,500.00.  Ms. Justiniano was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.   

    

On 10/07/2018 at 1:23 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 33 year old male, Nicholas Rivera of Ridgefield, NJ for an outstanding NCIC warrant issued by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department.  Mr. Rivera was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. 

 

On 10/07/2018 at 10:57 AM, Secaucus Police responded on a report of a motor vehicle accident in the area of Humboldt Street.  During the investigation the police arrested a 25 year old male, Timothy Holloway Jr. of Secaucus, NJ for Driving While Under the Influence [39:4-50], Reckless Driving [39:4-96] and Being under the Influence of CDS believed to be marijuana [2C:35-10B].  Mr. Holloway was issued his summonses and was released to the custody of a responsible adult. 

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 On April 10th at 10:07am Secaucus Police were responded to Sam’s Club on a call of attempted Fraud. A 24yo male, Isaac Kwapong of Bronx, NY was arrested for Credit Card Fraud, [2C:21-6H], Theft by Deception [2C:20-4A], and Conspiracy [2C:5-2]. Mr. Kwapong attempted the pickup of a Laptop computer that was ordered on line. The bearer of the Credit Card used for the purchase contacted Sam’s Club, and the Secaucus Police stating the purchase was not authorized. Mr. Kwapong was processed, handed his summonses and released.

On April 10th at 8:50pm, an officer observed a vehicle travelling a vehicle travelling on a deflated tire from the area of 925 Paterson Plank Road onto the Route 3 West Service Road. When stopped, Manuel Ortiz, 44 of East Rutherford, NJ was found to be Driving while Intoxicated with his minor child in the car. He was charged with Driving while Intoxicated, Driving while Intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle, Reckless Driving and for having an Unsafe Vehicle.

On April 13th at 9:26am during a Motor Vehicle stop a 31yo male Philip Duarte of North Bergen was arrested for 6 outstanding warrants totaling $4,245.00 from Secaucus, Edgewater, Guttenberg, Hoboken, and North Bergen as well as a suspended Driver’s License. Mr. Duarte was not able to post bail, was issued two MV Summonses (Obstruction of View and Driving While Suspended) then transported to Hudson County Jail.

On April 13th at 1:06 pm during a Motor Vehicle stop (Tinted Windows) a 24yo male, Dimas Alvarez from West New York was arrested for Possessing Prohibited Weapons [2C:39-3E], specifically brass knuckles and a police style nightstick. He was also arrested for possessing Prescription Legend Drug, suspected Clenbuterol [2C:35-10.5E(1)]. Mr. Alvarez was processed handed two Motor Vehicle summons (Tinted Windows and Noisy Muffler) and released.

On April 13th at 2:48pm Morris County Correctional Facility notified Secaucus Police they had in their custody a 37yo male, Corey Lefkowitz of Newark on an outstanding warrant in the amount of $430.00 from Secaucus. Mr. Lefkowitz was picked up and brought to the Hudson County Correctional Center.

On April 14th at 7:22am during a Motor Vehicle stop a 29yo female Amanda Anderson from Jersey City was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $100.00 from Jersey City. Upon investigation it was also found that Ms. Anderson had a Suspended License. Ms. Anderson was able to post bail was issued 1 summons and released.

On April 14th at 10:08am during a Motor Vehicle stop (Cell Phone) a 25yo male Josue Bonilla was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $95.00 out of Hoboken and Driving with a Suspended License. Mr. Bonilla was able to post bail, was issued two summonses and released.

On April 14th at 2:15pm during a Motor Vehicle Stop (Careless Driving) a 25yo male, Yves Carrasco of West New York claimed he was a “private citizen” and refused to provide any information to the officers. Therefore, he was arrested for Obstructing Justice [2C:29-1A] and Resisting/Interfering with Police [2C:29-2A(1)]. Mr. Carrasco was processed, and issued 8 Motor Vehicle summonses and released.

On April 14th at 2:18pm Secaucus Police responded to Walmart on a report of a Shoplifting. Police questioned and subsequently arrested a 54yo male, Charles Gore of Jersey City on 5 outstanding warrants in the amount of $8,675.00 from Secaucus, Bayonne, Elizabeth and Hoboken. Mr. Gore was brought to Headquarters where he was unable to post bail. Mr. Gore was then transported to Hudson County Correctional Center.

On April 15th at 9:31am Garfield Police notified Secaucus Police they had custody of a 42yo male, Heriberto Rivera of Garfield on an Active warrant from Secaucus in the amount of $1000.00. Secaucus Police transported Mr. Rivera to Headquarters where he was able to post bail and released.

On April 15th at 1:42pm during a Motor Vehicle Stop(Failure to Inspect) a 28yo male, Benito Rivero of Union City was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $144.00 out of Union City. During a search of his vehicle he was found in possession of a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Rivero was also charged with Drug Possession with intent to Distribute [2C:35-5B(11)] , Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with intent to distribute [2C:36-3] and Possession of over (1) ounce of Marijuana with intent to distribute within 500 ft of Public Housing [2C:35-7.1A]. Mr. Rivero was processed, issued 3 Motor Vehicle summonses (failure to Inspect, Driving While Suspended and Operation of a Motor Vehicle while in possession of CDS) and transported to Hudson County Jail.

On April 16th at 9:18am during a Motor Vehicle stop (Tinted Windows), a 29yo male, Edgar Espana of Union City was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the amount of $1,000.00 out of Union City. Mr. Espana was issued 3 Motor Vehicle summonses (Safety Glass, Improper Display, and Driving While License Suspended) and transported to Union City Police Headquarters.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
