The Secaucus Police Department Detective Division investigates crimes that occur within the Town of Secaucus. The Detective Division processes crime scenes and conducts interviews and interrogations of suspects, victims and witnesses. The Detective Division is also responsible for property and evidence function of the Secaucus Police Department. The members of the Detective Division have the dual function of performing the duties of the Juvenile Bureau. Members of the Juvenile Bureau are trained on a wide variety of issues related to the Juvenile Justice System. Part of the Juvenile Bureau’s protection role includes the tracking and registration of sex offenders under Megan’s Law. Members of the Juvenile Bureau are available to provide assistance to parent’s of missing children. The Juvenile Bureau assigns a specially trained School Resource Officer (SRO) to the Secaucus High School for the protection and safety of the children.
